Kennel Goals and Aspirations

Established in 1988 by my mother, ‘Fred Lloyd-Smith, dogs from Bracadale Kennel have excelled in many areas of competition in addition to being amazing family companions.  I strive to breed healthy, athletic dogs capable of engaging in many activities that their owners might choose to pursue, in line with the goals that were originally set out with for the kennel.  These dogs tend to be smaller and have less coat than modern show Gordons, more like the original type of dog, but they still need grooming to keep them tidy.

Bracadale Gordon Setters have triumphed in obedience trials, field trials, hunt tests, agility, trick dog training and lounging around on sofas. Please look at the list of titles won by Bracadale dogs owned by the kennel and other owners under Achievements. They are bright and full of character.  I consider them ‘unfound treasures’, as much fun as the Golden Retrievers I have lived with for over 40 years and a lot more uncommon!
